you know the saying "just go to college there's tons of gay people there"...is it true??? are their really alot more out gay guys in college..?? and i'm not just talking about the stereotypical ones that you know are gay...like is it normal to know a bunch of gay dudes that don't act gay...?

Depends on the college.

First college I went to was a second rate party school. Out of 30,000 students, I never met a single gay guy and the school didn't even have a LGBT group, which practically all schools have these days. In fact, that school was ridiculously homophobic. Students demanded that the university apologize for allowing a drag show to occur on campus saying it was "sinful and dsigusting". It was a school full of typical dumb rich guys who only wanted to go to college to party.

After I transferred to my new college, there's a freaking bevy of gay guys to choose from, extremely open gay guys. Lesbian and gay couples will walk around holding hands and even make out on campus. The amount of LGBT people at my school amaze me. But you also have to consider that it's a liberal arts college that only has 3,000 students, is based in the mountains, and is all about environmental awareness and going green and other forms of hippiedom. Colleges like these tend to attract more gay people because the students are almost always more liberal and accepting than at other schools.

So yeah, there are gay people in college, and actually very few of them are the girly types. Most you'd never even guess were gay. But how many gay students all depends on the school.

Is it okay to send a gay person a message on facebook asking how gay life is at their college?
If it's a college I'm interested in going to?

Hey I am a 18 year old gay dude currently in college, Theres this guy that well I started to talk to, we are only in one class togheter, We dont have much to talk about but without hessitation or exageration here probably one of the two most kindest and nicest guys I have ever met.

Well, now is your chance to get to know a gay guy. Deal with it, set parameters if you have to, and be a good friend to him. Don't ignore him or dismiss him, live your life and let him live his. Has College Rugby always been so gay?
I go to an Alumni game with some friends and freshmen are made to run around the field perimeter naked. We go to the bar afterward and you've got more rookies naked serving drinks to other dudes. We couldn't stop laughing at that scene. There are no women around except for the female players who are all making out with themselves anyway (the one good part). What's with the gayness in college rugby? Are rugby guys all gay, but just hiding behind 'traditions' to see each other's junk?

You don't know the half of it lol, I played Rugby for two years and these guys would do anything to see each other naked. Rugby as a professional league versus some drunken college boys in denial are two very different things. Needless to say many of my former teamates are now living out of the closet and my wife always jabs me about that.

Most of the time, I am usually the only one. Sometimes there is one gay guy, but he only hangs out with the girls. Would you be comfortable with a gay roommate?
I'm going to be entering college pretty soon and living in a co-ed dorm. I am a gay dude, and even though it's co-ed, I'd prefer it if I had another male roommate for my own comfort and because they'd be more familiar with guy stuff. I wouldn't want to live in the same room with someone who was awkward and uncomfortable around me, so I am just wondering if other guys would be comfortable living with a gay roommate, and how would you feel about it.

I actually have lived with a gay male roommate before, and I had mixed feelings about it. For starters, I had no problem at all with the fact that he was gay. However, he seemed to have a problem with me. I tried to make an attempt to get to know him, interact with him whenever he was in the room for longer than a few minutes, and genuinely be nice to him. My attempts did not work, through. He was incredibly anti-social when he was around me, and very social when with his friends and boyfriend. Very much a Jekyll-and-Hyde type of deal. His boyfriend and some of his other friends were very nice to me and his boyfriend warmed up to me pretty fast - which caused some unwanted tension between me and my roommate. Ultimately, I had to switch roommates because my own said "He did not feel comfortable in the room with me". And to this day, I still don't know what happened or what I did or said to make him feel that way.

I say just be yourself and go for it. I'm sure that it won't make much of a difference to your roommate if you're gay or not. Ultimately, you paid to be there and your money is just as good as anyone else's.

I understand your position. The implication of a public display of affection from an openly gay person to a heterosexual person is upsetting. It is one thing to speak to someone privately, but to openly be flirtatious in front of friends and your wife - that is an abomination.
