| I’m a guy and I was about 25 before I had enough sense to fill a thimble. Maturity is an ongoing process. There are different forms of maturity and it can be displayed in different ways. It sounds to me like you are on the right path. Your boyfriend definitely seems to be less mature at this point. But people do grow and change. If his relative immaturity is causing you problems, you may need to end the relationship. But if you are not having any other problems, you may be just as well to just give him more time and see how things develop. However, in most of history and in most other cultures it has been an accepted to pair older men with younger women. There is a lot of logic to this since this is more likely to pair couples of equivalent maturities, and there is less likely to be the common problem of one party being willing to "commit" while the other is too immature for such a commitment. So if you are feeling that guys your age are immature, you may wish to consider dating a guy that is a few years older. I have a daughter and I will give her the same advice when she is old enough to date. |
