What are your favorite "guy" movies? I don't know how much flak I'll get for not saying Goodfellas (which still is a great movie and one of my faves), but my vote for favorite "guy" movie is Swingers. Group of friends going out to clubs and parties, having drinks, trying to pick up women, and overall having a great time. You just can't go wrong with that pick. And who can forget making Wayne Gretzky's head bleed?
Rocky is second on my list of movies that fit this category. Unknown underdog boxer going up against one of the best and giving it his all. Awesome movie.
So what are your favorite "guy" flicks? Just to see what everyone out there thinks, and also to get ideas on movies I haven't seen yet that maybe I should. |
| I'm sorry, but you can't beat Swingers. |
Question about the 90's movies Swingers? I say 90s because its about the cars.
Remember that scene pretty early in the movie were every one is driving from that party (were all the models are supposed to be) to the Dresdon (were they kinda get in a fight while leaving).
I was wondering why they showed that scene? Were those like cool cars back then? |
LOL, no they weren't. Other than the 64 Impala... it was money.
I think Favreau showed that as an "homage" to the walk scene from Reservoir Dogs (if you remember they talked about the walk scene in the scene prior to that)
So, that's what that scene is all about. |
Did anyone hear about the new Vegetarian movies that are recently out!? 20,000 LEEKS UNDER THE SEA (PG) Divers battle undersea monsters to salvage priceless vegetables from a sunken freighter.
THE SPINACH PRISONER (R) A man is barricaded in his suburban home by strange neighbors who grow giant strains of green leafy veggies.
PULP FRICTION (XXX) Swingers enhance their eyesight and their sex lives with carrots, pumpkins, zucchini.
THE BLACK SCALLION (G) Horsing around on a remote island, a boy discovers a tasty new black onion. Nasty bad guys race to profit from his find.
WHO'S EATING GILBERT'S GRAPES (R) A classic whodunit about a thief who leaves no clues, except for some tiny seeds leading out the back door of Gilbert's Organic Fruit & Produce.
THYME BANDITS (R) Pint-sized bad guys corner the world's spice supplies while the good guys are busy resetting their clocks to EST.
ROTTEN TO THE CORE (PG12) Seedy inner-city wholesalers skin unsuspecting Ma and Pa groceries when they deliver overripe apples.
OKRAHOMA (G) A sprendid Japanese cast sings, dances, and grows corn as high as an erephant's eye!
THE GRATE MAN (R) Tragic biography about a man ahead of his time, Ron Popiel Sr., who went bankrupt selling his Grate-O-Matic vegetable grater using radio infomercials.
TRUE GRITS (PG) A yankee travels the deep south, searching for that authentic side dish he can't find anywhere near his home.
THE CANE MUTINY (G) Nursing home residents storm the kitchen and hold a cook captive, demanding real cane sugar instead of that funny pink and blue stuff. |
Not bad but you need to change one of the listings.
Okra Cola (NR) A documentary about a vegetarian living in the Oklahoma panhandle that gets out of a business deal by insisting the first product be an Okra flavored Cola.
It even has a theme song<evil grin>.
Oh, oh Okra Cola, the aroma comes drifting down the plain.
With a smell that's sweet, like stinking feet
and the taste, that drives your tongue insaaanne! |
What was the name of this short film from the 90s? It was before or after some movie. Swingers, maybe.
It's in black and white and a mafia hit man is ostensibly making his target dig his own grave. The target is a funny, charming guy and ends up talking his way out of being killed. It turns out the target was actually in the mob, and this was a test, and he kills the guy that was supposed to shoot him.
I think that's what happened?
As I remember it, it didn't make much sense because had he passed this test, he'd be dead. |
| Im thinkin either "Debbie Does Dallace" or "Double D Dykes Three" maybee even "Dykes on Bikes" |
Name 2 movies that don't say the title IN the movie? I watched Almost Famous AND Swingers yesterday and, for the first time (having seen them MANY times), I realized that they don't mention the title IN the movie.
Wondering if anyone else ever pays attention to these sort of details, or am I just a big nerd. |
Star wars.... they like never talk about the fact that Stars are at War and stuff, maaannn. It's like... a conspiracy and stuff, dude.
How baked were you when you came up with this question? |
